Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is Seaglass?
Seaglass begins as discarded glass items like bottles, jars, or even shipwreck remnants. These fragments are then tumbled and ground by waves, sand, and saltwater, gradually losing their sharp edges and becoming smooth and frosted.
Where does Trish find her Seaglass?
Most of the Seaglass in my collection originates from the shores of PEI Canada, collected by myself, by family or by friends. I also have collectors and friends in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick and British Columbia who sell me some of the Seaglass they’ve collected. I do have sea pottery and a very small portion of Seaglass that is not from Canadian shores, but have been collected from the Carribean, Mexico or Mediterranean.
How much does an Seaglass Art Piece cost?
Prices for my art pieces vary depending on size, amount of Seaglass used, the time it takes to create the art piece and the rarity of the Seaglass and treasures used. Most of my art pieces sell with in the $65-$110CAD range.
How rare is the Seaglass that Trish uses?
Can Trish do custom orders?
Most of my clients order custom art pieces. Maybe they fall in love with one of my previous pieces but would like a different quote. Or maybe they have a completely new idea they would like to try out. When ordering custom, I keep my clients informed and part of the process by sending them updates (photos of my progress). Payment is never expected until just before I start to glue the art together, or in some cases upon delivery.
Does Trish ship/deliver art pieces, or do I need to purchase locally?
I work out of my home in Airdrie Alberta Canada. There is no fee if I deliver your art piece within Airdrie or the surrounding communities. I do have options to ship my art across Canada, the USA and even overseas, however the cost varies and is discussed prior to making any commitment. So far I have had art pieces sent as far as the Northwest Territories, the Maritimes and even over seas to Ireland. I take great care in the protection and packing of each art piece.
How do I order an art piece that I like, or get in touch with Trish about an idea that I have for a custom artpiece?
